Born in 1953, I studied Law at the National University of La Plata, in my country of birth, where I met my future husband. We married in 1975 and I obtained my law degree in 1979.
I always held an interest in politics and I started my political movement in the 1970s. I dropped out of politics soon after, then picked it back up in the 1980s. I was the backbone for my husband’s campaign for presidency in 2003, which he won after the then President withdraw his candidacy.
I became an ambassador for my husband’s government and many have likened my combative style to that of the late Eva Perón. I was elected to the position of Senator of the Front for Victory after a heated campaign in 2005 and I assume the role of President of my country very shortly.
